Privacy Policy

Welcome to McMtGOP.org, the official Web site of the Madison County (Montana) Republican Party.  We hope you enjoy your visit.  We respect that your right to privacy online is important. You do not have to identify yourself or divulge personal information unless you choose to give us your personal information.

Unlike the Montana State party, and Republican National Committee, we do not track your use via Google-Analytics (urchin), which should be mentioned in their respective privacy policies, nor do we use cookies for session-ids to track your use.

We may occasionally monitor webserver logs, to insure that we have not left broken links, or to see general interest in varied content on the site, as well as to track what software people use to view the McMtGOP.org website.

We do provide links to other websites, especially the Montana Republican Party and Republican National Committee sites at gop.com, any of which may have different privacy policies than the Madison County Republican Party website.  Please check their respective privacy policy documents, for any such other site.  We cannot, and do not, guarantee the privacy or security of any linked site.

Privacy FAQ

Why would you give us personally identifying information?  In our effort to grow our Republican grassroots community online, we may at times ask you to submit information — such as your name, address, phone number and email address — in an effort to provide you the information you want in a more timely manner.  If you choose not to give us any information, we may not be able to provide you with the most timely information.

When you donate… federal law requires us to obtain the following information:

  • • name,
  • • mailing address,
  • • employer,
  • • occupation, and
  • • amount of contribution.
Federal law requires us to report this information to the Federal Election Commission if an individual’s contribution or contributions aggregate in excess of $200 in a single election cycle.  Contributions from corporations, government contractors, foreign nationals without a “green card,” and minors (individuals under the age of 18) are prohibited.  Any credit card information provided is only used to immediately process your donation.  Currently, the Madison County Republican Party accepts legal donations in person, presented to party officials, or (with adequate identification) mailed via the US Postal Service.  We also provide links for on-line giving via the Montana party or RNC.

We ask that children under 18 do not submit their information, especially on-line: In accordance with the Federal Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA) we do not knowingly collect information from children.  In accordance with the Federal Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA), the Madison County Republican Party Central Committee will never knowingly collect personal identifiable information from persons thirteen years old or younger.

Use of cookies and protecting your privacy: We do not generally make use of cookies when you peruse general content, as there should be no need to personalize and customize your interaction with McMtGOP.org to provide you with the best possible online experience.  Further, we do not out-link images (such as web-bugs) scripts, stylesheets, or other content.

A cookie is a tiny text file that is placed on your hard drive when you voluntarily (or ignorantly) permit it.  To voluntarily take part in one of our online polls, a cookie may be required.  These text files do not contain any personal information and cannot be used by McMtGOP.org or anyone else to obtain any information that you do not voluntarily provide, nor are they (under normal circumstances) used to identify you with your specific answer(s).  A cookie may be required to access tallied or cached submissions, or to actually submit answers (e.g. to a poll).  Information about cookies on your internet browser software may be found at:

Will this privacy policy change?  While we do not anticipate any changes to this privacy policy, we reserve the right to do so.  Do check back occasionally.  Significant changes will be annotated with their date-of-change.
